Did you know that artificial colorings (such as Yellow No 6, 10, and 5 and Red No 40) may increase hyperactive behavior in kids and are usually tested on animals? Scary, right? This is why you will never find these products in any of our baked goods. We almost exclusively use India Tree’s food coloring, which comes straight from nature! If you’ve had one of our red velvet cupcakes, then you’ve enjoyed their beet juice coloring. If you’ve ever tried a cupcake with yellow frosting, it was colored with turmeric. If your frosting was green, that’s Chlorophyll (not India Tree, but found at health food stores).
If you want to read more about how professionals feel about artificial food dyes, you can read this article from Mayo Clinic. http://mayocl.in/MBII9x.
These pans are crucial!
